About us

My name is Allan Young; I am the Managing Director and co-founder of Oven Sheen Ltd, which was formed in 2006 along with my wife Sam.

 

The first time I laid eyes on an Aga was in 2006 during an oven cleaning course, and it was love at first sight. Growing in South East London, encountering such a cooker was a rarity. Cleaning an Aga felt like polishing a classic car with its chrome and enamel paintwork. Over the years, I honed our cleaning methods, using a steam cleaner and enamel-safe products. We've cleaned Agas from just a few years old to over 30 years, all with remarkable results. Agas are renowned for their longevity, with some still going strong after more than 50 years.

 

"We're not just about Aga cleaning; we've cleaned over 10,000 ovens, hobs, extractors, and barbecues over the years. By popular demand, We've broadened our services to include carpet and upholstery cleaning, along with wood floor sanding and Refinishing. Along the way, we've had the privilege of serving a diverse range of clients from various backgrounds.

Our work has been recognized and featured in prestigious outlets such as the Times newspaper supplement "Bricks & Mortar," where we've been interviewed. We've also provided before and after pictures for BBC's Homes Live and cleaned ovens on set for the Lorraine Kelly show on ITV. Additionally, we've contributed to food magazine Delicious and recently lent our services to a family featured in the BBC One Series "DIY SOS: The Big Build." None of this would have been possible without the support of our loyal customers, who continue to recommend and trust us time and time again.
